I Remember

In my memory, the Earth is still green.
Blue oceans bound the continents.
Whales still plumb the depths for food.
Dolphins cavort among the waves.

In my memory, few coral reefs have  
Lost the algae that live within
The cells of polyps. Coral bleaching
is just beginning.

In my memory, the green estuaries
Abound with marsh grass and mangroves.
Productivity is threatened but
Food remains abundant.

In the here and now, 
the changes are more obvious. 
We cannot count on the 
continued availability of Seafood.
