I have a new article in The Hellbender Press. In 2008, a retaining wall at the Kingston Steam Plant broke, sending a wall of coal ash slurry into the Emory River and the river valley. I recently saw a presentation by Jared Sullivan, author of the book Valley So Low, in which he tells the story of a lengthy legal battle between the cleanup crew and the TVA contractor hired to manage the cleanup. https://hellbenderpress.org/news/a-tale-of-when-coal-ash-filled-a-valley-so-low.
I also have three poems in the 2023 edition of the Mildred Haun Review. Follow this link to the Mildred Haun Conference and scroll down to open the 2024 edition. https://ws.edu/academics/academic-divisions/humanities/mildred-haun/index.aspx
