“It is always dangerous to question college professors. They are paid to talk by the hour.” - Franklin Burroughs.
Burroughs speaks briefly in this book about the South Carolina Low Country where he grew up and Downeast Maine where he taught at Bowdoin College. I have a few comments in this video.
Burrows also wrote The Journey Home and Confluence: Merrymetting Bay. One of his most recent stories tells of an accident and rescue while fishing. “An Unlikely Rescue in Kennebec Gorge” appears on the website of Downeast magazine. He also has an excellent article on conservation on the Maine Coast Heritage Trust website.
Franklin is a good friend. Thank you for highlighting him.
I am going to look for a copy today!
